Role Description The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the hospital pharmacy, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications. This full-time, in office role, based in Visakhapatnam Rural mandal, includes supervising pharmacy technicians, managing inventory, and maintaining regulatory and hospital policy compliance.
The role involves reviewing and verifying prescriptions, coordinating with physicians and nursing staff, and implementing best practices in pharmacy workflow.
The Pharmacy
Manager will monitor medication safety, support immunization and other pharmacy-led clinical services,
and ensure proper documentation and reporting. The position also requires training and mentoring pharmacy staff, optimizing processes, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in hospital Pharmacy management and day-to-day Pharmacy Practice.
- Ability to oversee and guide Pharmacy Technicians and other pharmacy staff in a clinical setting.
- Strong skills in reviewing, interpreting, and validating Prescription orders for accuracy and safety.
- Experience with Immunization services and medication administration protocols within pharmacy scope.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/M.Pharm) from a recognized institution; registration with the relevant pharmacy council.
- Knowledge of hospital formulary management, drug inventory control, and cold-chain maintenance.
- Familiarity with pharmacy information systems, electronic medical records, and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and team coordination skills.
- Commitment to patient safety, adherence to ethical standards, and compliance with national and local healthcare regulations.
