Paid Architecture Volunteer – Community Development Duration: 3 Months (Fixed-Term Volunteer Engagement)

Honorarium: Up to INR 18,000 per month, based on approved hours worked. As part of this commitment, Lumiere32 is supporting an NGO partner in the planning and execution of community development and environmental sustainability projects.

This paid volunteer opportunity enables architects and architecture graduates to apply their professional knowledge to meaningful social initiatives while gaining practical experience through real-world community infrastructure projects.

Role Overview We are seeking a motivated architect or architecture graduate who is passionate about community development through design and planning. The selected volunteer will work closely with the Foundation's project team to support the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of community infrastructure and environmental improvement initiatives. This opportunity offers valuable practical experience while contributing to projects that benefit local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare conceptual architectural layouts and design proposals.

Develop 2D drawings, presentation layouts, and basic 3D visualizations.

Conduct site measurements and prepare technical documentation.

Assist in the planning and design of community centres, educational facilities, sanitation projects, parks, public spaces, and other social infrastructure.





Prepare quantity estimates and basic Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

Coordinate with engineers, contractors, NGO representatives, volunteers, and local authorities.

Conduct periodic site visits and prepare progress reports.

Support the preparation of project proposals, grant applications, presentations, and technical reports.

Promote sustainable, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective design solutions.

Maintain accurate project records, drawings, photographs, and documentation. What You'll Gain

Eligibility

Applicants should

Hold a degree or diploma in Architecture, or be in the final year of an Architecture programme.

Have working knowledge of AutoCAD. Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or similar software is an advantage.

Be willing to travel to project sites in Maharashtra when required.

Have good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Be committed to community service and sustainable development.
