Job Title: Principal / Architect – OpenStack

Experience: 12–20 Years

Work Location: Bangalore

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled OpenStack professional with robust expertise in core architecture, development, and customization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with OpenStack source code (beyond deployment) and a deep understanding of its internal components, workflows, and integrations. This role requires strong programming skills, system-level understanding, and the ability to work on customized or forked OpenStack implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and customize OpenStack components based on business requirements.
- Work extensively with OpenStack source code, contributing to enhancements and custom implementations.
- Understand and optimize interactions between various OpenStack services.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs for cloud services and applications.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking, and system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and efficient cloud solutions.
- Ensure stability, performance,



and scalability of OpenStack-based environments.
- Work on process management, logging, monitoring, and debugging in distributed systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- 12–20 years of overall experience in software development with strong exposure to cloud technologies.
- Strong understanding of OpenStack architecture and service interactions.
- Hands-on experience working with OpenStack source code (not limited to deployment).
- Proven experience in customizing or working on forked OpenStack implementations.
- Hands-on experience with at least one or more OpenStack components:
- Nova (Compute)
- Neutron (Networking)
- Cinder (Block Storage)
- Glance (Image Services)
- Strong programming expertise in Python.
- Solid understanding of OpenStack APIs, Oslo libraries, and internal workflows.
- Experience in REST API design and integration.
- Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including networking, process management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with package management and build systems.
