Role Description The Offshore Campboss role is a full-time, on-site position based in India, responsible for overseeing daily camp operations on offshore installations or vessels. The Campboss manages catering and housekeeping teams, ensures food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met, and supervises meal planning, preparation, and service for personnel on board.
This role includes monitoring stock levels, coordinating procurement and storage of provisions, and maintaining accurate records of consumption and inventory. The Campboss also ensures that living quarters, common areas, and workspaces are kept clean, secure, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements, while promoting a respectful, inclusive environment.
Day-to-day responsibilities involve coordinating with offshore management and HSE staff, handling staff scheduling, resolving operational issues promptly, and maintaining clear communication with shore-based support teams.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Campboss, Chief Cook, or similar role in offshore, maritime, or remote-site operations.
- Strong skills in kitchen management, food safety, hygiene practices, and menu planning for diverse crews.
- Experience supervising housekeeping services, including cleaning schedules, laundry operations, and accommodation upkeep.
- Ability to manage inventory, provisioning, and cost control, including ordering supplies and preventing waste.
- Knowledge of offshore safety standards, HSE procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Effective team leadership and people management skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and support staff.
- Good communication skills in English; additional local languages are an advantage.
- Physical ability and willingness to work in offshore environments and follow rotational work schedules.
- Relevant certifications in food handling, hygiene, or HSE; prior offshore/marine training is highly desirable.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality, catering, or maritime-related qualifications are a plus.
