BACKGROUND
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 57 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.
GENERAL
Location of Job: Mumbai

Job type: Contractual for 1-year, renewable basis project requirements.
Reporting to: Senior Project Coordinator/Project Manager/ Project Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE
The Trainer GDA & Elder Care will be responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and practical training to youth enrolled under The Hans Foundation Livelihood Skills Training Programme. The role focuses on equipping trainees with essential healthcare skills, English skill, soft skills, and employability competencies to support careers in hospitals,
clinics, home healthcare, and elder care services.
The trainer will also support youth in identifying career pathways in healthcare and guide them towards employment opportunities or further education.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Deliver both theoretical and practical training sessions on GDA and Elder Care as per the prescribed curriculum
Demonstrate patient care techniques including hygiene, mobility support, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing assistance
Ensure adherence to healthcare safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols
Conduct structured induction programmes for new batches
Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and assessment tools
Monitor trainee performance and maintain training records, attendance, and progress reports
Ensure consistent, high-quality training delivery aligned with programme standards
Collaborate with the Centre Coordinator to plan and execute training schedules
Use interactive and participatory training methods for effective learning
Conduct needs assessments and develop Personal Development Plans (PDPs) for trainees
Support trainees in achieving their career goals in coordination with placement teams
Provide counselling, motivation, and mentorship to reduce dropout rates
Participate in community mobilization, awareness camps, and student selection processes
Assist in placement activities and industry linkages
Maintain documentation and submit reports as per programme requirements
Act as a role model demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and ethical conduct
Desired Competencies
Solid interpersonal and rapport-building skills with youth
Excellent communication and training delivery skills in Hindi and basic English
Good understanding of healthcare practices and patient handling
Ability to motivate, counsel, and guide trainees
Strong organizational and time management skills
Problem-solving attitude and flexibility in work
Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation
Qualifictions & Experience
B.Sc Nursing (Mandatory)
Minimum 2 years of clinical or teaching experience
Experience in delivering training to GDA / Elder Care students preferred
Knowledge of patient care, first aid, hygiene, and basic medical procedures
Experience in skill development or training programs is an advantage
Basic computer literacy mandatory required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in GDA / Elder Care Training Centres
ToT (Training of Trainers) Certification preferred
Exposure to NSDC/Skill India aligned programmes
