Job Title: Junior Legal Associate DPDP Advisory (Fresher).
Location: Mumbai Worli
Week off 5 Days (2 & 4th Saturday off)
Employment Type: Full-time
1. Role summary
The Junior Legal Associate DPDP Advisory will support the Firm in
providing data protection and privacy compliance services to clients under Indiaas
Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). The role is ideal for a
fresher or early-career lawyer interested in building a specialization at the
intersection of technology, privacy, and financial sector regulation.
2. Key responsibilities
Assist in DPDP gap assessments for NBFCs, financial institutions and
other clients by helping gather information, review client documents, and
prepare structured checklists and working papers.
Conduct legal and regulatory research on the DPDP Act, rules, sectoral
regulations (RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, etc.) and global privacy trends, and prepare
concise research notes and updates for internal and client use.
Support drafting and review of data protection artefacts such as privacy
notices, consent language, internal policies (Data Protection, KYC, AML,
retention, grievance), and governance frameworks under guidance from
senior consultants.
Assist in data-mapping and process documentation, including
understanding how client systems and processes collect, store, use, share and
delete personal data, and documenting these flows in templates provided by
the Firm.
Help prepare client deliverables such as gap assessment reports,
compliance checklists, remediation plans, training decks, and meeting
minutes with accuracy and attention to detail.
Coordinate with client teams (legal, compliance, IT, HR, operations) to
schedule calls, track information requests, and maintain an organized record
of documents and responses.
Support the design and roll-out of DPDP awareness and training
sessions by assisting with content preparation, case studies, and FAQs.
Maintain and periodically update internal knowledge repositories on
DPDP (templates, precedents, trackers) as new regulatory developments and
client experiences emerge.
3. Required qualifications and skills
Bachelors degree in law (LL. B) from an accredited university; LL.M in
Corporate / Technology / Business Law will be an added advantage.
0-1 year of experience; freshers with solid interest in data protection
and financial sector regulation are welcome.
Strong legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to read and
interpret statutes, regulations, circulars and regulatory FAQs.
Excellent written and spoken English, including ability to draft crisp
emails, notes and basic policy language.
Comfort with technology and documentation tools (MS Word, Excel,
PowerPoint; familiarity with collaboration platforms).
High degree of attention to detail, organization and willingness to work in a
fast-paced, consulting environment.
Demonstrated interest in privacy, fintech, NBFC regulation or corporate
compliance (e.g., internships, courses, certifications) will be preferred

and technology.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet timelines with structured
