Job Title: Legal Head Affordable Housing (West / PAN India)

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Legal Head to lead the legal function for its Affordable Housing business. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in handling legal and compliance matters related to affordable housing finance and should currently be managing legal operations for either the West region or on a PAN India basis.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the legal function for the Affordable Housing business across West India or PAN India.

Manage legal due diligence for housing finance loan proposals.

Handle title verification, property scrutiny, mortgage documentation, and legal opinions.

Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines applicable to Affordable Housing Finance.

Oversee legal documentation related to home loans, LAP, and mortgage transactions.

Manage litigation, recovery matters, and coordination with external advocates.

Develop and implement legal risk mitigation strategies.

Advise business teams on legal and regulatory matters.

Ensure adherence to RBI, NHB,



RERA, SARFAESI, and other applicable laws.

Build and manage relationships with panel advocates, legal vendors, and government authorities.

Lead and mentor regional legal teams while ensuring process efficiency.

Strong expertise in:

Affordable Housing Finance

Property title verification

Mortgage documentation

Legal due diligence

Compliance

Litigation management

Recovery legal processes

Strong knowledge of:

Transfer of Property Act

SARFAESI Act

RERA

Registration Act

Stamp Duty regulations

RBI & NHB guidelines

Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Mandatory Requirements

12+ years of relevant legal experience.

Must have hands-on experience in Affordable Housing legal operations.

Must currently lead legal operations for the West region or PAN India.

Solid expertise in legal compliance, property legal due diligence, mortgage documentation, and litigation.

Willing to work from Kalina, Mumbai.
