Roles and Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain backup solutions using Avamar, L3 technologies to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify backup requirements, develop strategies, and execute plans.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to backups, restores, and data integrity.
- Develop documentation for backup procedures, policies, and best practices.

Job Requirements :

- 5–8+ years in enterprise backup administration, including robust hands-on Avamar, PPDM, and Data Domain experience.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Avamar (datasets, policies, checkpoints, hfscheck, replication, MCCLI).
- PPDM (protection policies & workflows, assets, inventory sources, monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, replication, and recovery operations. and upgrades).
- Data Domain (MTrees, Storage Units, DD Boost, replication, certificates, and capacity management).





- Experience with backup of:

- VMware environments.
- Windows and Linux/UNIX file systems.
- Databases such as Oracle (RMAN) and SQL Server.

- Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, network, virtualization, and storage layers.
- Experience analyzing backup logs and resolving complex backup and recovery issues.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management) and documentation best practices.

Nice-to-Have

- Experience with Avamar to PPDM migration projects.
- Exposure to NAS (PowerScale/Isilon), SAN, and large-scale virtualized environments.
- Dell Backup and Recovery certifications.
- Scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python, Shell).
