Assistant Senior Delivery Manager (ASDM) Maritime & Commodities

Role Summary

The Assistant Senior Delivery Manager (ASDM) is responsible for leading day-to-day operations of the Maritime & Commodities delivery teams, ensuring high-quality research, timely project execution, client satisfaction, and continuous process improvement. The role involves managing multiple teams, mentoring people leaders, driving operational excellence, supporting client engagements, and contributing to business growth through innovation and automation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Delivery & Operations Management

- Manage end-to-end delivery of Maritime and Commodities research projects.
- Ensure all client deliverables meet agreed SLAs, quality standards, and turnaround times.
- Monitor daily productivity, quality, and operational KPIs.
- Drive timely issue resolution and manage operational risks.
- Ensure adequate resource allocation across projects.

2. Team Leadership

- Lead SSDMs, Team Leads, and Analysts.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Coach and mentor future leaders.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and capability development.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.

3. Client Management

- Act as a secondary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Participate in client calls and operational reviews.
- Present delivery updates, KPIs, improvement initiatives, and action plans.
- Handle escalations professionally and proactively.
- Build robust long-term client relationships.

4. Quality & Process Excellence

- Ensure adherence to SOPs and client guidelines.
- Review quality trends and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for standardization and automation.





5. Maritime & Commodities Domain Oversight

Provide operational guidance across areas such as:

Maritime

- Maritime casualty reporting
- Vessel tracking and AIS analysis
- Fleet intelligence
- Port and terminal research
- Ship ownership and management research
- Marine insurance and incident analysis
- IMO, Equasis and classification society research

Commodities

- Commodity pricing and market intelligence
- Trade flow analysis
- Import/export data research
- Agricultural, energy and metals research
- Supply chain monitoring
- Commodity news tracking

6. Performance Management

- Monitor productivity and utilization.
- Review quality scores and error trends.
- Conduct monthly performance reviews.
- Develop individual development plans.
- Support succession planning.

7. Automation & Innovation

- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes.
- Work with Technology teams to improve operational tools.
- Drive adoption of AI, automation, and workflow improvements.
- Support implementation of new technologies.

8. Reporting & Governance

- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports.
- Present operational dashboards.
- Track KPIs including:
- Productivity
- Quality
- SLA adherence
- Client satisfaction
- Resource utilization
- Revenue realization
- Maintain audit readiness and documentation.

9. Compliance

- Ensure adherence to Information Security, Data Privacy, and Quality Management policies.




- Follow client confidentiality requirements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Preferred candidate profile

- 4-7 years of overall experience in Research Operations, Data Operations, Maritime, Commodities, Supply Chain, or Business Process Management.
- Minimum 24 years of people management experience.
- Experience managing multiple teams and client-facing operations.
- Exposure to process improvement and automation initiatives is preferred.

Preferred Domain Knowledge

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following will be preferred:
