Job Title: ArcGIS Backend Developer

Location: New delhi/Hyderabad/Mumbai/pune /chennai
Experience: 5-18+ years

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced ArcGIS Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable GIS backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, spatial databases, geoprocessing services, and backend integrations, with the ability to support high-performance geospatial applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services for GIS applications using ArcGIS Enterprise / ArcGIS Server
- Develop and publish map services, feature services, geoprocessing services, and image services
- Build and optimize REST APIs for geospatial data access and processing
- Manage and maintain spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server with spatial extensions)
- Implement geodata workflows, data ingestion pipelines, and ETL processes
- Ensure performance, scalability, and security of GIS backend systems
- Automate GIS processes using Python (ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python)
- Configure and maintain ArcGIS Portal, Data Store, and Web Adaptor
- Integrate GIS services with enterprise systems and third-party applications
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server performance
- Collaborate with frontend GIS developers, data analysts, and DevOps teams
- Maintain documentation for architecture, services,



and workflows

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong experience with ArcGIS Enterprise / ArcGIS Server
- Proficiency in Python (ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python)
- Hands-on experience with spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server)
- Strong understanding of RESTful web services and APIs
- Experience with GIS data models, projections, and spatial analysis
- Knowledge of Linux/Windows server administration for GIS systems
- Experience with authentication and security (OAuth, token-based security)
- Familiarity with versioned datasets and enterprise geodatabases
- Solid understanding of backend architecture and system integration
- Ability to analyze performance bottlenecks and optimize GIS services

Positive to Have (Preferred Skills)

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for GIS deployments
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with real-time GIS, GeoEvent Server, or streaming data
- Exposure to Open-source GIS (GeoServer, QGIS, GDAL)
- Experience supporting large-scale or high-traffic GIS applications
- Esri certifications (ArcGIS Enterprise, Python, or Developer)
