We are looking for an experienced Naval Architect to provide marine technical support and ensure compliance with industry standards. The role involves conducting structural assessments, evaluating marine assets, and leading design and analysis activities for maritime projects.
Key Responsibilities
Marine Technical Support & Compliance
- Provide technical support to the Marine Quality Assurance (MQA) function and clients.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, risk profiles, KPI, and SLA criteria in the Marine Service Provider (MSP) agreement.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for marine service delivery.
Structural & Performance Assessments
- Conduct structural assessments of third-party marine assets for compliance with MSP/MESQAC standards.
- Evaluate vessel design, weight, propulsion, displacement, and draft.
- Oversee dock and sea trials, ensuring conformance with national and international standards.
Design & Analysis
- Lead the design and analysis of structures, hydrodynamics, and stability using FEA, CFD, and NAPA tools.
- Develop technical drawings, plans, and operational strategies in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Work closely with marine engineers on propulsion systems, ventilation,
refrigeration, and piping arrangements.
Stakeholder & Project Management
- Liaise with clients, classification societies, IMO, and flag authorities on compliance and approvals.
- Manage project timelines, cost efficiency, and resource utilization for marine engineering assignments.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Master's degree in Naval Architecture or a related engineering field.
- PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience as a Naval Architect in the marine industry.
Knowledge & Expertise
- Strong understanding of structures, hydrodynamics, and stability.
- Experience with risk assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with classification, flag state, IMO ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, and MARPOL regulations.
- Ability to apply engineering principles to practical maritime challenges.
