About your team
AMP Data Engineering is an engineering group that supports the broader data and investment services landscape.
Fidelity is embarking on several strategic programmes of work that will create a data platform to support the next evolutionary stage of our Investment Process. These programmes span across asset classes and include Portfolio and Risk Management, Fundamental and Quantitative Research and Trading. About your role This role sits within the AMP Data Engineering team. The team is responsible for building and maintaining data applications and platforms that enable business operations.
This role is appropriate for a senior data engineer capable of taking ownership and delivering a subsection of the wider data platform or data applications.
As a Data Engineer, you will directly contribute to key organizational objectives of Accelerated Innovation, Cost Optimization, Risk Mitigation, and Business Enablement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop components of data pipelines for ingestion and transformation
Execute and monitor data quality validation processes
Implement solutions based on specifications from senior engineers
Assist in translating business requirements into technical implementations
Write efficient SQL queries and Python scripts for data processing
Follow team standards and engineering best practices
Participate in code reviews to improve technical skills
Help maintain documentation for data processes and configurations
Troubleshoot basic issues in data pipelines
About you
Core Technical Skills
Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake or equivalent)
AWS Ecosystem: Familiarity with AWS services particularly S3 and Glue
Streaming Architecture: Basic understanding of event-based or streaming data concepts
Programming: Good proficiency in Python and SQL
DevOps: Familiarity with basic CI/CD concepts
Data Security: Understanding of data access control concepts
Database Systems: Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL)
Data Integration: Basic understanding of ETL concepts
Orchestration: Exposure to workflow tools (Airflow, Control-M, etc.)
Engineering Practices: Familiarity with GitHub and version control principles
Domain Knowledge: Willingness to learn investment management industry concepts
Bonus technical Skills
Basic understanding of containerization concepts
Interest in API development
Willingness to learn about Asset Management data domains

Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset and eagerness to learn
Communication: Clear communication of technical concepts
