L3 Technician – Roles & Responsibilities

Advanced Technical

Repairs

Handle complex hardware and software issues escalated from L1 & L2 technicians

Perform board-level repairs (IC replacement, micro-soldering, jumper work)

Diagnose intermittent, dead, boot failure, network, and power issues

Work on high-value and critical customer devices 2.

Technical

Escalation & Support

Act as the final technical escalation point within the service center

Provide root cause analysis (RCA) for repeated or unresolved issues

Support L1/L2 technicians with troubleshooting guidance and live assistance 3.

Quality

Control & First-Time-Fix

Ensure high First Time Right (FTR) / First Time Fix (FTF) ratio

Reduce repeat repairs and customer complaints

Validate repairs before delivery for critical cases 4. Training & Skill Development





Train and mentor L1 & L2 technicians on:

Advanced diagnostics

Current models & technologies

Repair best practices

Prepare technical notes, SOPs, and repair tips 5. Tools, Equipment & Software Handling

Operate and maintain advanced tools:

Microscope

Hot air rework station

Multimeter, DC power supply

Programming & flashing tools

Handle OEM diagnostic software and firmware updates Key Skills Required

Strong electronics & circuit-level knowledge

Advanced troubleshooting & analytical skills

Micro-soldering expertise

Leadership & mentoring ability

Documentation & reporting discipline
