An MIS Executive in a steel company manages production, inventory, sales, and logistics data, generating daily/monthly reports to support decision-making. Key duties include utilizing advanced Excel for data analysis, tracking KPIs like production efficiency, and maintaining accurate records of raw materials and finished goods. Key Responsibilities in a Steel Manufacturing Context

- Production & Inventory Tracking: Maintain accurate, daily records of raw material consumption (coal, iron ore), inventory levels, and production output (finished steel).
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports regarding production capacity, sales targets, and inventory, often highlighting shortages or excesses.
- Logistics MIS: Track logistics data, including vehicle meter readings, loading/unloading times, and freight costs to optimize supply chain activities.
- System Management: Utilize ERP systems or advanced MS Excel to analyze data trends, create dashboards, and ensure data integrity.
- Quality & Operational Support: Coordinate with plant operations, procurement,



and sales teams to validate data and generate analytical reports for senior management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and complex formulas is essential.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience, ideally in manufacturing or steel, with knowledge of SQL or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) being a plus.
- Analytical Ability: Robust analytical skills with the ability to turn raw data into actionable insights.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to Track

- OTIF (On-Time-In-Full): Measure delivery accuracy.
- Production Yield: Track raw material to finished product conversion rates.
- Stock Turnover: Analyze efficiency of inventory management.
- Freight Cost: Monitor transportation expenditure.
