Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mining Engineer role based in the Pune Division.

The Mining

Engineer will plan, design, and optimize mining operations, including pit layouts, production schedules, and resource extraction strategies for iron ore and coal assets. Daily responsibilities include conducting geological and geotechnical assessments, preparing mine plans, analyzing production data, and recommending improvements for safety, efficiency, and cost control.



The role involves coordinating with operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety teams to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards, as well as supporting the implementation of new technologies and best practices in mining.

The Mining

Engineer will also prepare technical reports, participate in risk assessments, and support long-term resource planning aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Mining Engineering and Mine Planning skills, including pit design, scheduling, and resource optimization.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills for evaluating production data, conducting feasibility studies, and supporting decision-making.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Mining operations, including methods of extraction, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in open-pit or underground mining environments; iron ore experience is an advantage.
- Familiarity with mine planning and design software (e.g., Surpac, MineSight, Datamine, or similar) and basic GIS tools.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and sustainable mining practices.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work on-site in multidisciplinary project teams.
