About the Role

Souvenir Publishers Private Limited is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and technology-driven Graphic Designer with experience in educational publishing. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in book design, typesetting, and print production, along with hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance design quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and typeset school textbooks, workbooks, teacher manuals, and supplementary educational materials.
- Create clean, structured, and print-ready page layouts using Adobe InDesign.
- Format text, tables, illustrations, charts, exercises, and infographics according to publishing standards.
- Maintain consistency in typography, paragraph styles, character styles, master pages, grids, margins, and overall page design.
- Coordinate with editorial, content, and illustration teams to implement revisions and proofreading corrections.
- Prepare print-ready PDF files with proper bleed, crop marks, CMYK colour settings, and pre-press specifications.
- Handle large academic books (100–300+ pages) while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Utilize ChatGPT and other AI tools to assist with content structuring, proofreading support, creative ideation, prompt generation, workflow optimisation, and productivity enhancement.
- Generate or refine AI-assisted design concepts and integrate them into publishing projects where appropriate.




- Deliver projects within defined production timelines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Required Qualifications

- Graduate in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Publishing Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Educational/Academic Publishing (School Books preferred).
- Strong command of Adobe InDesign (Mandatory).
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Good understanding of typography, page composition, grid systems, and print production.
- Knowledge of pre-press processes and printing specifications.
- Experience handling large-page publications.
- Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills.

Required Skills

- Expert in Adobe InDesign.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience in Book Layout, Typesetting, and Academic Publishing.
- Strong understanding of typography, stylesheets, master pages, and print-ready file preparation.
- Knowledge of print production and pre-press standards.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools, particularly ChatGPT, in day-to-day work. (Mandatory)
- Ability to use ChatGPT for research, content assistance, proofreading support, prompt creation, creative ideation, and workflow optimisation.
- Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools such as Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, and other generative AI platforms.
- Ability to learn and adopt emerging AI technologies for publishing and graphic design workflows.
- Solid attention to detail and ability to work under strict deadlines.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in Educational or School Book Publishing.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted image generation and editing.
- Understanding of publishing workflows and curriculum-based book production.
