EroNkan Hiring Guide - Associate IoT Engineer / IoT Engineer

This guide is intended to help recruiters and hiring managers consistently evaluate candidates for customer-facing Industry 4.0 engineering roles.

1. Role Objective

Hire engineers capable of installing, commissioning, troubleshooting and supporting EroNkan's Industry 4.0 solutions (SNAX, CGX, BiX and FLEX) at customer manufacturing plants.

2. Ideal Candidate Profile

- Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or Computer Engineering.
- Experience: 0 to 2 years (Associate) or 2 to 5 years (Engineer).
- Comfortable with extensive travel across India.
- Solid troubleshooting and customer communication skills.

3. Mandatory Technical Skills

- PLC fundamentals (Siemens/Schneider/Allen-Bradley/Mitsubishi/Delta)
- Industrial networking (TCP/IP, Ethernet)
- Communication protocols (Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA, MQTT preferred)
- Windows configuration and PC hardware
- Industrial sensors and basic instrumentation
- Basic SQL (preferred)

4. Interview Process

Round 1 - HR: Communication,



travel readiness, attitude, stability, notice period.

Round 2 - Technical: Automation, networking, PLCs, troubleshooting, industrial communication.

Round 3 - Practical: Network setup, communication diagnostics, field troubleshooting, commissioning report.

5. Technical Questions

1. What is the difference between Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP?
2. How do you troubleshoot if a PLC is not communicating with a PC?
3. What is an IP address and subnet mask?
4. What is OPC UA used for?
5. What is MQTT and where is it used?
6. Explain the commissioning steps for a new industrial system.

6. Practical Assessment

- Configure a static IP on an Industrial PC.
- Verify communication with a PLC or simulator.
- Identify and resolve a simulated network fault.
- Prepare a concise installation/commissioning report.

7. Offer Guidelines
Verify employment history, educational qualifications, references, travel willingness and compensation expectations before issuing an offer.
