Job Summary

We are looking for a Database Engineer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL to build, optimize, and manage highly available database environments. This role combines database engineering with PostgreSQL administration, requiring hands-on experience in performance tuning, automation, monitoring, backup and recovery, replication, and infrastructure optimization.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex database challenges, improving system reliability, and working closely with development and infrastructure teams to support mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain scalable PostgreSQL database environments.
- Administer PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, query execution, indexing, and storage.
- Configure and manage PostgreSQL replication, failover, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Automate database administration, deployment, and maintenance tasks using scripting.
- Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Troubleshoot database issues and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with application developers to design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL queries.
- Implement database monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning.
- Ensure database security, user access management, and compliance with best practices.




- Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

Required Skills

- 2+ years of experience working with PostgreSQL in production environments.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
- Experience with PostgreSQL replication, backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Robust SQL skills with experience optimizing complex queries.
- Experience with PostgreSQL tools such as PgBouncer, pgBackRest, Patroni, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems and shell scripting.
- Experience automating database operations using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Understanding of database monitoring and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with PostgreSQL on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to database migration and infrastructure automation tools.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Work Location

- Initial Training: 2 months in Bangalore.
- Permanent Work Location: Noida.
- Work from Office Only.
- Candidates should be willing to relocate to Bangalore for the training period and subsequently work from our Noida office.
