Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist (AI Billing Specialist) to manage and support the end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management process, with a strong focus on US healthcare.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across the RCM lifecycle, including eligibility and benefits verification, charge entry, coding review, claim submission, payment posting, denial management, accounts receivable follow-up, appeals, underpayment identification, and patient/provider billing support.

In this role, you will work closely with our AI-powered RCM platform to validate system outputs, identify billing and workflow gaps, analyze payer behavior, and provide expert feedback that helps continuously improve our AI solutions.

This is more than a traditional RCM role - helping us build smarter, more accurate, and scalable healthcare revenue cycle solutions.

Core Responsibilities

- End-to-End Revenue Cycle Management
- Manage and support the complete RCM lifecycle for gastroenterology services, from patient registration and insurance verification through claim submission, payment posting, denial management, AR follow-up, and final resolution.
- Review patient demographics, insurance information, eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and billing information for accuracy.
- Perform charge entry and review charges for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate billing practices.
- Review CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and modifier usage to identify potential billing and coding issues.
- Submit clean claims electronically through clearinghouses and payer portals.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid, delayed, rejected, and denied claims.
- Post ERAs, EOBs, and insurance payments accurately and reconcile payments against submitted claims.
- Identify and resolve underpayments, incorrect contractual adjustments, missing payments, and other revenue leakage opportunities.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) by prioritizing outstanding balances based on aging, payer, claim value, and denial reason.
- Work on appeals, reconsiderations, corrected claims, and payer disputes to maximize reimbursement.
- Handle secondary and tertiary claim billing when applicable.
- Maintain accurate documentation of claim activity, payer communication, appeals, and follow-up actions.

Denial & AR Management
- Analyze denial trends and identify the root causes of recurring denials.
- Work on denials related to eligibility, authorization, medical necessity, coding, bundling, timely filing, duplicate claims, non-covered services, and payer-specific requirements.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to improve first-pass claim acceptance and reduce avoidable denials.




- Maintain and work assigned AR queues while meeting turnaround-time and productivity expectations.
- Identify high-value and aging accounts requiring immediate escalation.
- Track denial recovery and collection performance and provide insights to improve overall RCM performance.

AI & Automation Responsibilities
- Work directly with our AI-powered RCM platform to validate AI-generated billing and RCM outputs.
- Review AI recommendations, claim information, coding suggestions, payer responses, and workflow actions for accuracy.
- Identify AI errors, anomalies, missing information, and incorrect payer or billing logic.
- Provide structured feedback to Product, Engineering, and AI/Data teams to improve system performance.
- Help identify patterns in claims, denials, payer responses, and AR that can be automated or predicted by AI.
- Test new AI workflows and features before deployment.
- Help create and maintain payer-specific scenarios, billing rules, denial libraries, and RCM knowledge bases.
- Act as a Medical Billing Specialist (AI Billing Specialist) for AI model training, validation, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with clinical, coding, front-office, credentialing, and operations teams to resolve documentation, authorization, demographic, and billing issues.
- Escalate complex payer issues and recurring workflow problems to the appropriate teams.
- Work with internal teams to improve RCM workflows, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in audits, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in US healthcare RCM, medical billing, or medical accounts receivable, preferably supporting gastroenterology or other speciality practices.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end US healthcare revenue cycle.
- Hands-on experience with multiple stages of RCM, including:
- Eligibility & benefits verification
- Prior authorization and referral requirements

- Charge entry

- Claims submission

- Clearinghouse rejection management

- Payment posting

- ERA/EOB reconciliation

- Denial management
- AR follow-up

- Appeals and reconsiderations

- Underpayment identification

- Secondary billing
- Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and procedure modifiers.
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, and payer-specific billing guidelines.
- Experience working with one or more EHR, PM, billing, or clearinghouse platforms.
- Hands-on experience working with payer portals and clearinghouse systems.
- Demonstrated ability to improve clean claim rate, denial rate, AR aging, and overall collections.
- Strong understanding of RCM KPIs, including Days in AR, AR aging, denial rate, clean claim rate, first-pass resolution rate, collection rate, and net collection rate.




- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend process improvements.
- Excellent spoken and written English with strong professional communication skills.
- Fast and accurate typing skills for efficient data entry, claim documentation, and payer follow-up.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with technology, automation, and AI-driven workflows.
- Must be a resident of India and willing to work on-site from our Gurugram, Haryana office.

Preferred Qualifications Bonus Points
- Experience specifically supporting US gastroenterology practices.
- Prior experience working with US healthcare providers, RCM companies, medical billing companies, or healthcare technology companies in an offshore environment.
- Experience with gastroenterology procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, biopsy, polypectomy, anaesthesia-related billing, pathology, and associated services.
- Experience working with or providing feedback on AI/ML-based healthcare or RCM automation platforms.
- Experience with denial prediction, automated claim scrubbing, or RCM automation.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and PHI data handling requirements.
- Experience with ERA/EOB reconciliation and secondary claim billing.
- Experience with payer portals and major US commercial payers.
- Background in credentialing, payer enrolment, or provider enrolment is a plus.
