We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our core product development team. As an early-career engineer, you will bridge the gap between concept and reality. You will take ownership of component design, manage our in-house prototyping processes, and work closely with manufacturing vendors. This is a high-impact role where your designs will quickly evolve from CAD models to functional, commercial hardware.

Location: Deshpande Startups, Hubli, Karnataka (On-site)

Role Type: Full-time (Freshers will begin with a 3-month internship prior to full-time conversion)

Experience Level: 0 to 1 Year Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & CAD: Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for machine components, enclosures, and moving assemblies. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing (DFM).

Prototyping & Fabrication: Operate and manage in-house 3D printing workflows for rapid iteration. Coordinate with external vendors for CNC machining, laser cutting, and sheet metal fabrication.

Testing & Validation: Design and execute physical testing protocols on prototypes and sub-assemblies. Analyze mechanical failures, troubleshoot fitment issues, and iterate designs based on real-world performance.





Technical Documentation & BOM Management: Maintain meticulous technical documentation, manage Bill of Materials (BOM), and oversee revision control for all mechanical parts to ensure smooth handoffs to manufacturing.

Sourcing & Tolerancing: Research, evaluate, and source standard off-the-shelf electromechanical components. Apply proper tolerancing (including understanding of GD&T;) for bearing fits, gears, and mating parts.

What We Are Looking

For

B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline.

0 to 1 year of professional experience.

Note: Candidates with 0 years of experience (freshers) will initially be hired as interns for a 3-month probationary period. Upon successful completion and performance review, they will be converted to full-time employees.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent).

A solid understanding of fundamental engineering principles, mechanics of materials, and basic kinematics.

Familiarity with common manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, 3D printing) and basic knowledge of engineering tolerances.

A proactive, startup mindset—highly organized, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and eager to get hands-on with hardware.
