Qualification: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Draftsman with 2–5 years of experience in preparing detailed engineering drawings and supporting product development activities. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in creating accurate 2D manufacturing drawings, applying GD&T; principles, performing tolerance stack-up analysis, creating Bills of Materials (BoM), and working with PLM systems. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings based on engineering designs.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BoM).
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T;) standards in engineering drawings.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability.
- Maintain design documentation and revision control using PLM systems.
- Support design engineers by preparing and updating engineering drawings.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and production teams to resolve drawing-related issues.
- Incorporate engineering changes and maintain drawing accuracy throughout the product lifecycle.
- Follow Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines while preparing drawings.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in creating 2D engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Good understanding of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Experience in tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Knowledge of BoM (Bill of Materials) creation and management.
- Hands-on experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, including:
- Casting
- Machining
- Sheet Metal Fabrication
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Good communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsman or Mechanical CAD Engineer.
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings, drafting standards, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality technical documentation
