Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in sheet metal design and fabrication. The ideal candidate should be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, capable of creating manufacturing drawings, 3D models, and supporting production with technically accurate designs. Experience in elevator components or industrial fabrication is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop sheet metal and fabricated components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Prepare 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
- Develop fabrication drawings for laser cutting, bending, welding, machining, and assembly.
- Ensure designs comply with manufacturing capabilities, quality standards, and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, and quality teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Optimize existing designs for cost reduction, manufacturability, and performance.
- Review engineering changes and update drawings/documentation accordingly.
- Support prototype development and production implementation.




- Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of SolidWorks (Parts, Assemblies, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Drawings).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting).
- Good understanding of sheet metal processes including:

- Laser cutting

- CNC bending

- Welding

- Fabrication

- Assembly
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances, and engineering standards.
- Ability to prepare BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of material selection and fabrication techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in mechanical design, sheet metal, and fabrication.
- Experience with elevator components, industrial equipment, or heavy fabrication will be an advantage.

Preferred Technical Knowledge

- Sheet metal design principles
- Fabrication and welding standards
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- GD&T; and tolerance stack-up
- Material selection (MS, SS, Aluminum)
- ERP/BOM management (preferred)
