A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Mechanical Component Engineer/Analyst at MKS Global Capability Center Bangalore, you will partner with R&D; teams across MKS PSD Business Units to research, validate, and maintain electronic components engineering data and documentation.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage mechanical components throughout the product lifecycle to support sustaining engineering activities.
- Monitor component availability, manage obsolescence, and identify alternate or second-source components to ensure supply continuity.
- Evaluate mechanical component specifications, materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier documentation to ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
- Ensure mechanical components comply with global environmental and regulatory standards, including RoHS, REACH, PFAS, POP, and Conflict Minerals.
- Collaborate with global suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, support component qualification.
- Support engineering change activities by evaluating component changes, implementing ECOs/ECRs, and maintaining accurate engineering documentation.
- Maintain accurate component information, specifications, supplier data, and compliance records in Agile or SAP ERP systems.
- Work closely with global engineering, sourcing, quality, manufacturing,
and supply chain teams to support product development and lifecycle management.
- Perform sustaining mechanical engineering activities Bill of Materials evaluation, component research, and standardization of commonly used mechanical components such as connectors, screws, fittings, and other mechanical hardware.
- Manage component obsolescence by identifying, sourcing, evaluating, and qualifying alternative mechanical components Skills You Bring:
- 4 - 6 years of relevant experience with a professional degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Experience in mechanical hardware design and selection, interpretation of electromechanical schematics, and understanding of mechanical component specifications.
- Experience with Engineering Change Order processes, product Bill of Materials management, design change documentation, and Recent Product Introduction activities.
- Experience in mechanical component obsolescence management, including alternate component identification and lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance requirements for mechanical components.
- Experience working with Agile or SAP ERP systems
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams.
