Role & responsibilities

1.Maintain Close Coordination and follow up with all the concerned department in the plant for strict adherence to SOP, WPS, HIRA, Risk assessment etc. Knowledge of PSM & its implementation at site.

2.Comply with rules and regulations of statutory bodies.

3.Have the knowledge of fire & safety related different equipment and system.

4.Have the experience of managing fire, safety & OHC team.

5.Maintenance of Occupational health center and co-ordinate for periodical health checkup of employees.

6.Have the knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation measures of the respective plant.

7.Have the knowledge of ERDMP/Disaster management plan.

8.Have the knowledge of First Aid and OHC requirements in plant.

9.Ensure proper maintenance of safety, Fire Fighting and first aid equipments and also ensure house -keeping of required standards in plant; carry out spot checks/ audits to ensure compliance.

10.Conduct regular fire/disaster drills, safety committee meetings and training programs on safety and first aid. Associate in accident investigation in site & off site (Bulk carrier incidents) - share relevant information/LFIs to improve the relevant systems & procedures to avoid future incidents amongst employees.

11.Observe and identify safety, pollution control hazards in the plant and suggest innovative changes/ improvements to overcome them.

12.Liaise / reporting with PESO, Inspector of factories, Fire Service dept, TN Pollution Control Board, MOEFCC office and other statutory bodies.

13.Provide guidance during design, implementation stages of new projects at site.

14. Develop/ modify procedures specific to site

Essential Skills and Experience





1.Minimum 12 years of post-qualification experience (excluding training period).

2.Experience in Oil & Gas Industry shall be preferred.

3.Should have handled & have the ability to manage (in Hydrocarbon industries):

- Compliance of PCB, MOEFCC,DISH,PNGRB (T4S) ,OISD, Dock Safety requirments.

- Compliance of Permit systems, Fire protection facilities, OHC requirements, contractor management.

4.Handling projects -dealing with consultants/contractors safety. HSEF requirements during pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities in LNG/hydrocarbon plants.

5.Experience in Process design - Review of Piping & Instrumentation Drawings, Fire network drawings & systems, Process safety (PSM elements), Monitoring of plant equipment / systems related to Fire, Safety, Health & Setting etc.

6.Should have adequate knowledge of Tamil language.

*Experience in LNG/Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Fertilizer / Chemical / Cryogenic handling industry Preferred.

Qualification Criteria:

(i)Full Time Engineering Degree in Fire & Safety from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE with 1st Class (Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA)

OR

(ii)Full Time Engineering Degree in any branch from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE with 1st Class (Minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA) and Full Time Diploma in Safety from CLI/RLI or Institute recognized by State Govt. with 1st Class (Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA)

OR

(iii)Full Time Engineering Degree in any branch and M.E/M. Tech in Industrial Safety from a recognized university.
