Role & responsibilities
As the Manager within the Infrastructure and Climate Advisory (ICA) team, you will play a pivotal role in navigating business complexities, delivering large-scale, long-term and complex infrastructure projects. You will oversee a high-performing, multidisciplinary team and work collaboratively to provide strategic, commercial, and regulation-related advice to our public and private sector clients.
Your role will be to cultivate a deep understanding of agile policy environments, infrastructure strategies and business risks, translating these into actionable insights that drive desired outcomes for our clients
Strategic Leadership: Lead the execution of large scale, long-term and complex projects in the infrastructure sector. Strategically guide project deliveries to meet quality expectations within time and budget constraints. Develop and implement insights-driven infrastructure strategy based on evolving market trends, policies and regulations.
Client Management: Act as a principal point of contact for clients, building and sustaining long-term partnerships. Provide tailored advice to clients including public sector entities, infrastructure owners, project developers, large corporates, contractors, equity investors, and financers on their business plans, regulatory compliance and commercial risks.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the sector, effectively leveraging KGS's Centre of Excellence capabilities. Represent the firm in global conferences and events, promote our capabilities and foster meaningful connections across the industry landscape.
Team Management: Lead and nurture a team of multidisciplinary professionals, fostering an environment conducive to professional growth, knowledge sharing and excellent performance. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive internal and external engagement.
Advisory Expertise:
Oversee and contribute to the team's thought leadership in areas of infrastructure sectors including transport, social infrastructure (education, healthcare), energy and utilities. Help clients understand and navigate the changing policy and regulatory environment.
Preferred candidate profile
Education: A masters degree, MBA, Masters in Economics, or any other equivalent higher degree is required.
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in the consulting sector with a focus on strategy and project management. Experience in management consulting, particularly relating to infrastructure strategy, acquisition, funding, and risk and opportunity management is essential. Prior experience in delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects is a must. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across different geographies will be highly valued.
Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of at least one of the following infrastructure sectors: transport, social infrastructure (education, healthcare), energy, and utilities. An in-depth understanding of the evolving policies, regulations, and market trends within the infrastructure sector is desirable.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading high-performing teams. Demonstrable success in mentoring and developing team members for higher performance and career progression.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively present complex information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: Robust analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with strategic thinking. Ability to use data and insights in strategic planning and decision making.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management and business analytical tools such as MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of emerging digital technologies and application within the infrastructure sector will be an added advantage.
