Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing and developing technical solutions on our mainframe systems, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, robust applications. This role requires a strong understanding of mainframe technologies, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within an Agile workplace.

Roles and Responsibilities

Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into detailed technical design documents that align with the company''s architectural standards.

Apply a comprehensive understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts to provide and implement effective technical solutions for challenging problems.

Actively participate in requirements analysis sessions to ensure a thorough understanding of project scope and objectives.

Conduct in-depth issue analysis, debug existing code, and prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports to prevent recurrence.

Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned applications, providing technical support and guidance to various stakeholders.

Perform and/or lead the design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of mainframe solutions, adhering to best practices.





Develop basic and detailed program specifications for new development and enhancements.

Collaborate effectively within Agile teams, participating in sprints, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies.

Resolve technical issues encountered by designers and developers throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications Skills:

Required:

Mainframe Technologies: Extensive hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, and MQ Series, with proven expertise in coding, quality assurance, testing, and the ability to work in a high-volume capacity environment.

Mainframe Tools: Proficiency with common mainframe tools such as CA7, SDSF, SPUFI, SORT, File Aid, and FTP.

Demonstrated experience with developing and supporting applications in Agile teams.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred:

Experience with security software and solutions.

Prior experience in the Healthcare domain.

Basic understanding or experience with Java.

Education:

A Bachelor Degree

Experience:

6+ Years of experience in mainframe application development
