We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pain Management Coder with at least 1+ years of experience in Evaluation and Management (E&M;) coding. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of pain management procedures, E&M; coding guidelines, and experience with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. This role is integral to ensuring accurate coding for medical procedures, diagnoses, and treatments to support proper reimbursement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Code Pain Management Procedures: Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for pain management procedures such as nerve blocks, spinal injections, and other interventional treatments.
- E&M; Coding: Review medical documentation to correctly assign E&M; codes based on physician documentation, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and industry standards.
- Documentation Review: Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation of patient encounters to support coding accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure Compliance: Stay current with coding updates and changes in industry regulations (such as Medicare and insurance guidelines) to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Coding Audits: Assist with internal audits and review of coding practices to ensure coding accuracy, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations.
- Claims Submission: Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies,



ensuring correct coding for reimbursement.
- Resolve Coding Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve coding discrepancies and rejections, communicating with insurance carriers and physicians when necessary.
- Continuous Learning: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pain management procedures and coding practices through ongoing education and professional development.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience in E&M; coding, preferably with experience in pain management or interventional procedures.
- Knowledge: Robust knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. Familiarity with pain management terminology and procedures is highly desirable.

Skills:

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact with physicians, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and coding software.
