Role: Software Engineer III (Oracle Techno-Functional Consultant) Location: Chennai/Bangalore (Hybrid - 3 days/week in Office)
Role Overview At Pearson , our Oracle ERP platform underpins critical Finance and Supply Chain operations, enabling efficient order processing, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and business continuity. Our Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) setting supports end-to-end business processes across Order Management (OM), Advanced Pricing, Shipping Execution, Inventory, Purchasing, Receiving, Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Cash Management (CM), Fixed Assets (FA), and Subledger Accounting (SLA) , ensuring the stability, performance, and integrity of business-critical operations across the enterprise. We are looking for an experienced Oracle Techno-Functional Consultant to support, enhance, and evolve our Oracle EBS applications. This role sits at the heart of production support and continuous improvement, combining strong hands-on Oracle technical expertise with functional knowledge of Oracle Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Finance processes to deliver scalable solutions, resolve complex production issues, and ensure the stability and performance of business-critical Oracle applications. The successful candidate will work across the full application lifecycle, including production support, technical development, integrations, enhancements, upgrades, testing, deployment, and post-production support, while partnering with Finance, Supply Chain, and cross-functional technology teams to deliver reliable, high-quality Oracle ERP solutions. Exposure to Oracle Fusion Financials and Oracle Fusion SCM is considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 production support for Oracle EBS Finance and Supply Chain applications, including incident management, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation of permanent fixes.
- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle EBS technical components, including PL/SQL Packages, Procedures, Functions, and Triggers; Oracle Reports and XML Publisher/BI Publisher Reports; Concurrent Programs; Oracle Workflow; Forms Personalization and Customizations (where applicable)
- Develop and support Oracle EBS integrations using Oracle Public APIs, Open Interface Tables, SQL y Loader, REST/SOAP web services, and other enterprise integration technologies.
- Perform data conversions, data migration, reconciliation, performance tuning, and production data fixes.
- Support application upgrades, patching, cloning activities, implementations, testing, cutover, deployment, and hypercare support.
- Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions.
- Develop technical documentation, deployment guides, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
- Support audit, compliance, and governance activities while ensuring adherence to organizational standards and best practices.
Required Skills Experience Technical Skills
- 7+ years of hands-on Oracle EBS technical development and production support experience.
- Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development, debugging, and SQL performance tuning.
- Experience developing Oracle Reports, XML Publisher/BI Publisher Reports, Concurrent Programs, Oracle Workflow, and Forms Personalization.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Public APIs, Open Interfaces, interface development, and data migration.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production issues in integrated Oracle ERP environments.
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting and deployment activities.
- Experience supporting Oracle EBS upgrades, patching, cloning, and deployment activities.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST APIs, FBDI, and ADFDI.
- Experience with enterprise integrations and middleware technologies.
- Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion certification.
