Job Description: We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust server-side applications and data workflows that power our core products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions on modern cloud infrastructure.

Roles and Responsibilities: :

## Key Responsibilities - Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript. - Write and optimise SQL queries, schemas, and stored procedures for relational databases. - Deploy and manage services on cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS accepted), including compute, storage, and managed database offerings. - Collaborate with product and frontend teams to define API contracts and integration requirements. - Participate in code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and mentor peers. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance and reliability of backend systems. - Document technical designs, APIs, and operational runbooks.

Node.js:



Proficiency in building production-grade REST or GraphQL APIs; strong understanding of the async/event-driven model.

TypeScript: Solid experience writing strongly-typed, maintainable TypeScript in a Node.js environment.

SQL: Ability to design normalised schemas, write complex queries, and optimise performance (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent).

Cloud (GCP / AWS): Hands-on experience deploying and operating cloud workloads; GCP preferred (Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Scheduler), AWS accepted (Lambda, RDS, SQS). -

Web Scraping: Experience building reliable scrapers using tools such as Puppeteer, Playwright, Cheerio, or equivalent; familiarity with handling pagination, dynamic content, and anti-bot measures.

Task Queues & Scheduling: Familiarity with task-queue systems (BullMQ, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub) or job schedulers (cron, Cloud Scheduler, AWS EventBridge) for building resilient background workflows.

Data Pipeline Workflows: Experience designing or contributing to ETL/ELT pipelines; exposure to workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or similar) is a plus.
