Machining Engineer
Innotec Powersys Pvt. Ltd. | Faridabad, Haryana | Full-time, on-site
About Innotec Power
Innotec Power designs and manufactures permanent magnet motors, alternators, generators, and custom electrification systems for OEM customers around the world. Our products go into construction equipment, agriculture, ground support equipment, marine, industrial machinery, and specialty electric vehicles.
Permanent magnet machines live and die on machining accuracy. Our air gaps are measured in tenths of a millimetre. Concentricity between the stator bore and the bearing housings decides whether a motor runs cool and quiet or comes back from the customer. There is no room to average out a bad part later in the build.
That is why this role exists.
The Role
We are looking for one person to own every machined component in the business — the parts we cut in-house and the parts we source from outside machining vendors.
As Machining Engineer you become the single point of accountability for machined parts: what gets made, where it gets made, how fast, at what cost, and to what tolerance. If a shaft is late, out of round, or over budget, it is your call to make and your problem to fix.
This is a hands-on role reporting directly to senior leadership. You will not be managing from a desk.
What You Will Own
In-house machining
Run the in-house machining cell — CNC turning and VMC work
Write, prove out, and maintain CNC and VMC programs
Design and build workholding, fixtures, and soft jaws for repeat jobs
Own tooling selection, speeds and feeds, tool life, and cycle time reduction
Establish first-article inspection, in-process checks, and machine capability studies
Take a lead role in machine selection, installation, and commissioning as we expand capacity
Outsourced machining
Own the technical side of our outside machining vendor base — qualify vendors, issue drawings and specs, resolve their queries, and hold them to tolerance and date
Work alongside our procurement lead, who manages the commercial relationship and purchase execution, so the two of you cover the part end to end
Run incoming inspection and drive corrective action when a vendor sends bad parts
Make the make-vs-buy call on every part, backed by real numbers rather than habit
Parts and tolerances
You will be responsible for parts including shafts, rotor hubs and spiders, end shields and bearing housings, motor frames, SAE flanges and bell housings, terminal boxes, fan covers, and genset structural components — with tight bearing fits, controlled bore concentricity and runout, GD&T; callouts, and specified surface finishes.
Planning and cost
Build and hold a machining schedule that feeds assembly without starving it or drowning it in WIP
Track machining cost per part and drive it down year over year
Work with design engineering on DFM — tell us when a drawing is expensive to make, and how to fix it
Support prototypes and current product introductions with fast, accurate first parts
What We Are Looking For
Required Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering
3–6 years in a machining role — machine shop, tool room, or manufacturing engineering
Hands-on CNC turning programming and setup (Fanuc, Siemens,
or Haas controls)
Working knowledge of VMC programming and machining
Confident reading engineering drawings and GD&T;
Comfortable with tight tolerances and the metrology that proves them — micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, CMM reports
Experience with outside job-work vendors and holding them to specification
Willing to be on the shop floor, at the machine, every day
Strongly preferred
CAM experience — Fusion 360, Mastercam, SolidCAM, or similar
SolidWorks or AutoCAD for fixture and part design
Rotating equipment background — motors, pumps, gearboxes, spindles, or automotive drivetrain
Balancing, bearing fitment, or assembly of rotating assemblies
Vendor development or supplier quality experience
Root cause analysis, SPC, Cp/Cpk, control plans
- ERP and Excel
What this role is not A supervisory position. You will write programs, set up jobs, check parts, and call vendors — often in the same hour.
What Success Looks Like
First 90 days — you know every machined part in the product line, who makes it, what it costs, and what its problem history is. You have rated every outside vendor.
First 6 months — machined-part rejections and machining-related assembly delays are measurably down. Make-vs-buy decisions are documented and defensible.
First 12 months — machining is no longer the constraint on our production rate. Cost per part is down, and we can quote a new custom part with confidence because you own the numbers.
Compensation
₹4.5 – ₹7.0 LPA, based on experience and demonstrated capability.
Performance-based reviews. This role sits close to senior leadership and grows with the plant.
Pay: ₹450,000.00 - ₹750,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
