Role & Responsibilities

- Architecture & Design: Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-grade API management solutions using IBM API Connect and integration gateways using IBM DataPower.
- API Strategy: Define API governance frameworks, security policies, throttling/rate-limiting strategies, and best practices for the full API lifecycle (create, run, manage, secure).
- Security Implementation: Architect robust security protocols within DataPower and APIC, including OAuth2, OID, SAML, SSL/TLS mutual authentication, JWT, and threat protection policies.
- Integration & Development: Design complex extensions, custom policies, and gateway extensions (User-Defined Policies) in APIC. Develop advanced DataPower objects, multi-protocol gateways, and Xslt/GatewayScript policies.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Establish and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines for API deployment and configuration management across multiple environments using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Act as a technical subject matter expert (SME), collaborating with enterprise architects, development teams, and business stakeholders to align integration patterns with broader digital transformation goals.
- Troubleshooting & Performance:



Conduct deep-dive performance tuning, infrastructure sizing, high-availability setups, disaster recovery planning, and resolve complex production issues.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience: Overall 7+ years of experience in IT integration, with at least 5+ years of dedicated experience acting as an Architect or Technical Lead on IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower platforms.
- Technical Expertise:

- Deep hands-on experience with IBM APIC (v10 preferred) and IBM DataPower (Gateway appliances or virtual/containerized form factors).
- Strong proficiency in GatewayScript, XSLT, XPath, JSON, XML, and REST/SOAP web services.
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) for contemporary APIC deployment topologies.

- Security & Networking: Expert knowledge of web security mechanisms (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect, TLS/SSL) and networking concepts (Load Balancers, Firewalls, DNS).
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven track record of leading technical teams and presenting solutions to executive stakeholders.
