Position: Linux Admin

Experience: 4 to 12 years

Location: Trivandrum We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator (L2/L3) to manage, support, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise Linux environments. The candidate will be responsible for administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, and related infrastructure services. The role requires expertise in system performance tuning, automation, troubleshooting, security hardening, patch management, and support for mission-critical production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Linux System Administration

Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers.

Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and access controls.

Configure and maintain file systems, LVM, NFS, and storage solutions.

Perform OS upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities.

Ensure high availability and system reliability.

Incident & Problem Management

Handle L2/L3 escalation tickets and critical incidents.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.

Troubleshoot OS, kernel, network, and application-related problems.

Coordinate with application, database, network, and security teams.

Security & Compliance

Implement Linux security best practices and hardening standards.





Manage firewall configurations (iptables/firewalld).

Monitor security vulnerabilities and apply remediation measures.

Support compliance audits and maintain security documentation.

Automation & Scripting

Develop automation scripts using Bash, Shell, or Python.

Automate routine operational tasks and health checks.

Manage scheduled jobs using cron and other automation tools.

System Monitoring & Performance

Monitor server health, CPU, memory, disk utilization, and services.

Analyze logs and system performance metrics.

Optimize system resources and troubleshoot bottlenecks.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Support backup and recovery procedures.

Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

Ensure business continuity requirements are met.

Documentation

Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and knowledge articles.

Maintain system inventory and configuration records.

Resolve incidents and service requests within SLA.

Perform routine maintenance activities.

Handle server patching and upgrades.

Monitor alerts and system health.

Execute standard operating procedures.

Escalate complex issues to L3 teams when required. L3 Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize Linux infrastructure.

Lead critical incident resolution and RCA activities.

Perform capacity planning and performance optimization.

Automate infrastructure management processes.

Mentor L1/L2 engineers.

Support infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades.

Review security controls and compliance requirements.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Ability to work in 24x7 support environments.

Robust incident management and stakeholder communication skills.
