Research/Job Area-Department of Mathematics Location- Delhi Eligibility/Qualification– Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline from a premier institution with good academic record throughout.
- The candidate must possess strong communication skills.
- Should have some teaching experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates having a valuable track record of teaching at the undergraduate level (as indicated by student feedback).

Desirable

- Research experience in the relevant field of specialization will be an added advantage.

Job/Position Description- Title: Lecturer Position in the Department of Mathematics The Department of Mathematics at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) is looking to hire two lecturers for the term beginning July-Aug 2022. Key Responsibilities

- The selected candidate in each area is expected to deliver two courses per semester in subjects specific to the discipline.




- The candidate is required to have proficiency in teaching one or more of the following courses: Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, ODE/PDE, Multivariate Calculus, Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra.
- Any other responsibility assigned on an ad-hoc basis by the Head of the Mathematics Department and/or the Director of the Institute.
- The lecturer will report to the Head of the Mathematics Department.

Pay And Other Benefits

- The compensation will be approximately Rs.1 Lac per month which will be proportionate in case of a part-time appointment.

General Information/ Conditions/ Instructions

- The position is contractual on a purely ad-hoc basis for a maximum of up to three (03) years and will be subject to semester – wise evaluation of teaching.
- Prescribed qualifications are only a minimum requirement and merely possessing the same will not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview. In this regard, the decision of the Institute/ Screening Committee will be final and no request for reconsideration etc. will be entertained through any means.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be informed about the interview and presentation dates through e-mail.
- The number of positions may be increased or decreased depending on the requirements.
- The Institute works for five days a week.

National

Holidays are followed as per the Govt. of Delhi notification.

- The shortlisted candidates will be intimated within 7-10 working days after the last date of receiving applications and will be invited for interview and presentation, which is expected to be conducted around the last week of April 2022.




- Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide three letters of recommendation.

- The selected candidates will be expected to join and begin teaching in the Monsoon semester tentatively starting during the second week of August 2022.
