Role Description SAP Technical Consultant – ECC to S/4HANA Conversion

Job Summary The SAP Technical Consultant is responsible for supporting ECC to SAP S/4HANA conversion projects with a focus on custom code analysis, remediation, and technical readiness. The role involves analyzing ATC/ETC findings, driving code adaptations, supporting SPDD/SPAU activities, and collaborating with functional teams to ensure a successful S/4HANA migration. The ideal candidate is self-driven, proactive, and capable of independently owning technical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze ATC/ETC custom code migration results and identify SAP S/4HANA impact areas.
- Review ECC custom developments and recommend S/4HANA-compliant code adaptations.
- Identify obsolete tables, function modules, and unsupported ABAP constructs, and propose suitable alternatives.
- Support SPDD, SPAU, and SPAU_ENH activities during system conversion.
- Review and remediate RICEF objects for SAP S/4HANA compatibility.
- Collaborate with functional consultants to interpret technical findings and define remediation strategies.
- Perform debugging, code optimization, and technical troubleshooting.
- Ensure custom developments follow SAP S/4HANA best practices and Clean Core principles.
- Support testing, defect resolution, production cutover, and hypercare activities.




- Prepare technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to project and support teams.

Must Have Skills
- 6–10 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong experience in ECC to SAP S/4HANA conversion or migration projects.
- Expertise in ATC/ETC analysis, simplification items, and custom code remediation.
- Solid understanding of ECC-to-S/4HANA code adaptation scenarios.
- Experience with SPDD, SPAU, and SPAU_ENH activities.
- Hands-on experience with RICEF development and remediation.
- Strong debugging, code optimization, and performance tuning skills.
- Ability to communicate technical findings effectively with functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.

Good to Have Skills
- Experience with HANA-optimized ABAP development.
- Knowledge of CDS Views, AMDP, and modern ABAP syntax.
- Exposure to SAP RAP, OData Services, and SAP Fiori/UI5.
- Familiarity with SAP BTP and Clean Core extension concepts.
- Knowledge of SAP HANA database performance optimization.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- SAP S/4HANA or SAP ABAP certification is an added advantage.
