We're looking for a software engineering-first AI/ML leader- someone with deep expertise in backend development, scalable system design, and AI application development- who has successfully delivered production-ready AI solutions rather than focusing primarily on research or model development.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable AI/ML-powered applications and backend services.
- Architect distributed, high-performance systems for AI-driven products.
- Build robust APIs and microservices to serve AI models in production.
- Integrate LLMs and AI services into enterprise applications.
- Optimise application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to deliver end-to-end AI solutions.
- Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineers and establish high-quality software development standards.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, monitoring, and deployment automation.
- Work with cloud platforms to deploy and manage production AI workloads.

Requirements

- Strong expertise in Python (mandatory).
- Experience with Java, Go, or Node.js is a plus.
- Valuable to have: REST APIs and Microservices, Object-Oriented Design, Design Patterns, Clean Architecture, System Design, Distributed Systems, Event-Driven Architecture.

AI/ML

- Experience integrating and deploying AI/ML solutions into production - Hands-on with LLMs and Generative AI applications - Prompt Engineering - Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) - AI Agent frameworks - Vector Databases - Model Serving and Inference - ML lifecycle understanding (training experience is a plus, but not the primary focus).
- Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Azure, or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD,



Terraform (preferred), Monitoring and Logging.
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Vector Databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate, Chroma, FAISS).

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience building AI-enabled SaaS or enterprise products.
- Strong understanding of scalable system architecture and cloud-native applications.
- Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical decisions.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and production AI deployment.
