India delivery center is one of our global delivery and capability hub. We bring together experts in AI, engineering, analysis, quality, and architecture to deliver product & process solutions, application run services, change and transformation initiatives, and centralized platform services across both on prem and Guidewire Cloud environments. Our teams operate from multiple global delivery centers, supporting Zurich’s business units worldwide.

Lead Data Application Software Engineer:

You will join a newly forming India GCC team with direct impact on modernizing our data landscape. The role offers real ownership across data transformation delivery and migration from legacy services to a modern stack (e.g., dbt, Databricks, MongoDB), while ensuring stable operations for critical platforms. You will collaborate closely with Europe through shared agile ceremonies in a multidisciplinary environment with strong exposure to diverse technologies.

We encourage AI-enabled engineering practices—using tools like Copilot, Claude Code, or ChatGPT responsibly to improve speed, quality, and documentation—while building standards and best practices from the ground up. Role summary:

We are seeking a Data Application Services / Platform Engineer to support and evolve data-related applications and infrastructure, ensuring stable operations while enabling modernization. The role combines application/platform support (L2/L3), automation, infrastructure as code for deployments, and migration support toward a up-to-date data stack.

and experience using AI tools for operational efficiency are expected. Key responsibilities:

Provide L2/L3 support for data applications and platforms, handling incidents, problems, and changes.

Perform platform monitoring (health checks, alerting, dashboards) and drive stability improvements through proactive detection and remediation.

Maintain and improve reliability through monitoring standards, runbooks, and operational best practices.

Automate repetitive operational tasks using Python and scripting to improve efficiency and reduce risk.

Use Terraform (IaC) to deploy and manage cloud infrastructure and platform components in a repeatable, controlled way.

Support migrations from legacy services to modern solutions, coordinating closely with engineers and stakeholders.

Contribute to CI/CD and deployment processes where relevant (e.g., Azure DevOps).

Participate in shared agile ceremonies with Europe teams, providing transparency and delivery updates.

Use AI tools (Copilot/Claude Code/ChatGPT) to accelerate troubleshooting, root cause analysis support, and documentation—responsibly and securely. Must-have:

Strong Python (automation/scripting) and solid troubleshooting skills.

Hands-on Terraform experience for infrastructure provisioning and deployments.

Experience with platform monitoring/observability (alerts, dashboards, incident response) and an operations mindset.

Experience with application/platform operations (incident/problem/change; ITIL mindset).

Cloud exposure (Azure and/or AWS) and basic DevOps/CI/CD understanding.

Strong communication and documentation skills (runbooks, procedures, known errors).

Practical experience using AI assistants with concrete examples. Seniority:
