– Inventory Planning Manager (Design Paper / Decorative Laminates)

Position Summary

We are looking for a highly proactive and result-oriented Inventory Planning Manager to lead the planning function for a high-volume manufacturing workplace. The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end production planning, inventory optimization, capacity utilization, and cross-functional coordination while independently managing a portfolio of approximately 3,000 SKUs

. The role demands strong analytical skills, system proficiency, and the ability to make timely decisions under dynamic business conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts, customer commitments, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
- Independently manage planning activities for approximately 3,000 SKUs while ensuring optimum inventory levels and high service levels.
- Drive adherence to planning processes, SOPs, and operational discipline across the manufacturing function.
- Continuously monitor production schedules/consumption trends and proactively address bottlenecks, material shortages, and capacity constraints.
- Coordinate closely with Production,Sales, Stores, Logistics, and Quality departments to ensure seamless execution of plans.
- Analyze demand trends, inventory ageing, and production performance to improve planning accuracy and reduce inventory levels.
- Generate and maintain MIS reports, planning dashboards, and analytical reports using SAP and MS Excel.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning efficiency, reduce waste, and improve customer service levels.
- Ensure timely communication of planning changes and take quick decisions during operational contingencies.

Technical Requirements

- Hands-on working knowledge of SAP (PP/MM) or equivalent ERP systems.
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, Power Query, dashboards, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of production planning, material requirement planning (MRP), inventory control, and supply chain concepts.

Experience

- 10–15+ years of experience in Inventory Planning / Supply Chain /Planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Decorative Papers, Laminates, Paper, Printing, Packaging, or Process Industries will be preferred.
- Proven experience in managing a large SKU portfolio and complex production planning operations.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Production, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
