Company Description:
We see ourselves as a bunch of crazy maniacs who refuse to understand "It Can Not Happen". People know us for building the most awesome e-bikes (electric bicycles) but, how we see it is "We believe we are changing the world, one e-bike at a time, and playing a part in bringing India to the Global map for EVs." The company aims to bring across top-quality eBikes which would currently cost way more in the domestic market at an affordable price utilizing its local sourcing and manufacturing capabilities.
Let's talk numbers. We are currently the market leader in India across the e-bike category and are just on the verge of announcing our Series C. Having grown from a team of 5 to 400+ across the globe, from a small garage to offices across 15+ countries and clocking in INR 300+ Cr revenue in the first three years of operations. We have raised a series B from global investors. We think this is a great start to our exciting journey.
We think this is a great start to our exciting journey.
Come, join us, help us transform the world, mobility, and have a blast while doing it! Think you are the right fit? Feel free to apply!
Role Purpose:
Act as the technical owner of the complete electric two-wheeler powertrain — battery, motor, controller, charger, display, harnesses and connectors — integrating individual components into a validated, homologation-ready vehicle system, tuning the application for performance, range and reliability, and leading the test engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Integration: Own end-to-end integration of battery pack, motor, motor controller, on-board/off-board charger, display/cluster, DC-DC converter, wiring harnesses and connectors into the vehicle.
- System Architecture:
Define powertrain system specifications — voltage architecture, power and torque targets, communication architecture (CAN matrix, protocols), grounding and EMC strategy.
- Application Engineering: Tune controller maps, ride modes, regen strategy, thermal derating and charging profiles to deliver target performance, range and drivability; match component specs to vehicle use-cases.
- Component Interfacing: Prepare and own interface specifications (electrical, mechanical, communication) between all powertrain components; resolve mismatches between suppliers' components; work day-to-day with the battery designers (mechanical and electrical architects) as peer specialists.
- Supplier Technical Interface: Work with component suppliers in India and China for specification finalisation, sample evaluation, application support and issue resolution; support strategic sourcing in techno-commercial evaluation.
- Vehicle-Level Validation: Plan and lead the powertrain DVP — dyno testing, range testing, thermal testing, EMC, durability and field trials; direct the test engineers in execution and build test infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting: Lead root-cause analysis of system-level issues (communication faults, derating, charging failures, harness issues) using CAN logs, data acquisition and structured problem solving (8D).
- Homologation & Compliance: Ensure the powertrain meets AIS-156,
AIS-004, CMVR and EMC requirements; interface with ARAI/ICAT for certification.
- Team Leadership: Manage, coach and develop the two junior test engineers; establish test documentation standards, safety protocols and lab discipline.
Requirements:
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering.
- 8–12 years in EV powertrain development, of which 4+ years in system integration or application engineering for electric two/three-wheelers at OEMs or powertrain suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience integrating hub/mid-drive motors, controllers, chargers, displays and battery packs into production vehicles.
- Strong hands-on capability with CAN tools (CANalyzer, PCAN, Busmaster), dataloggers, dynos and vehicle instrumentation.
- Working knowledge of AIS-156 and Indian homologation processes; exposure to Chinese supplier ecosystems is a strong advantage.
- Prior experience leading small technical teams preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- System-level thinking with deep component-level understanding across battery, motor, controller and charging.
- Application/calibration mindset — translating customer use-cases into component specs and tuning parameters.
- Structured problem solving (8D, DFMEA), test planning (DVP&R;) and technical documentation.
- Robust communication to work across suppliers, sourcing, and vehicle engineering teams.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Powertrain integration milestones and vehicle prototype readiness on time.
- Vehicle-level performance vs. targets (range, top speed, gradeability, charge time).
- System-level issue closure cycle time and field failure PPM.
- Homologation achieved on schedule.
