What you'll do
Common to all levels
- Build, test, and support ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter and/or IDMC (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services)
- Write and tune SQL against relational and cloud data platforms
- Investigate data issues end to end source, transformation, target, reconciliation
- Maintain job schedules, monitor runs, respond to failures
- Document mappings, lineage, and operational runbooks
Associate Data Engineer (Entry) additionally
- Build simple mappings and workflows to specification under mentorship
- Write SQL for validation and reconciliation between source and target
- Execute unit and regression tests; record and chase defects
- Support daily batch monitoring and first-level triage
- Learn the source systems and the business meaning of the data, not just the schema
Data Integration Engineer (Junior) additionally
- Own pipelines for a source system or subject area from design through production support
- Design mappings with reusable components, parameterisation, and proper error handling
- Implement SCD Type 1/2, CDC, incremental loads, and restartable jobs
- Tune underperforming mappings and long-running queries
- Build data quality rules using Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) profiling, standardisation, deduplication
- Write shell scripts for orchestration and file handling; work confidently on Linux
Senior Data Integration Engineer additionally
- Own the integration architecture for a programme: source-to-target strategy, staging design, error and reconciliation framework, SLA design
- Lead migrations PowerCenter to IDMC, on-premise to cloud data platforms
- Design for volume: partitioning, pushdown optimisation, parallelism, incremental strategy
- Establish standards naming, code review, deployment, version control, environment promotion
- Lead a pod of 3–5 engineers; run design reviews and technical grooming
- Engage directly with client data owners, DBAs, security teams, and auditors
- Own data governance and compliance posture: lineage, cataloguing, masking, retention, access control
What we're looking for Must have — Associate Data Engineer (Entry)
- Strong SQL — joins, aggregations, subqueries, window functions at least conceptually
- Understanding of relational database concepts: keys, normalisation, indexes
- Grasp of what ETL is and why it exists — source, staging, transformation, target
- Basic Linux command-line comfort
- Precision and patience. Data work rewards people who check twice.
- Academic projects, internships, or a training certificate in Informatica / data engineering
Must have — Data Integration Engineer (Junior) Everything above, plus:
- 1.5+ years hands-on with Informatica PowerCenter or IDMC (CDI) in a delivery environment
- Confident with core transformations: Lookup, Joiner, Aggregator, Router, Expression, Update Strategy, Normalizer
- Workflow design, session configuration, parameter files
- Strong SQL including performance awareness — you know why a query is slow
- Experience with at least one enterprise database: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Teradata
- Shell scripting and scheduler exposure (Control-M, Autosys, Airflow, or equivalent)
Must have — Senior Data Integration Engineer Everything above, plus:
- 5+ years in data integration, with substantial Informatica depth
- IDMC/IICS in production — CDI, and ideally CAI (Cloud Application Integration)
- Performance engineering at volume: pushdown optimisation, partitioning, session tuning, bottleneck analysis
- Dimensional modelling and warehouse design — star schema, slowly changing dimensions, fact grain decisions
- Cloud data platform experience: Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse
- Migration experience — legacy ETL to cloud, or PowerCenter to IDMC
- Data governance and quality at programme level
- Demonstrated technical leadership: design ownership, mentoring, or client-facing accountability
Good to have (any level, and a differentiator)
- Informatica MDM, Axon, or Enterprise Data Catalog
- Python for data processing and automation
- Streaming: Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming
- dbt, Airflow, or contemporary ELT tooling
- Informatica certifications (Developer, Cloud Data Integration)
- Experience integrating with Workday, SAP, Salesforce, or other enterprise applications
- Government or regulated-industry data work — audit trails, PII handling, data residency
Qualifications B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, or a related discipline. For senior roles, demonstrated pipeline ownership at scale matters more than the degree.
What we offer
- Compensation benchmarked to the Hyderabad market based on seniority and interview.
- Work on data platforms that carry real operational and citizen-facing consequences
- Exposure across both legacy modernisation and greenfield cloud data work
- Certification support and learning budget
- Health insurance and standard statutory benefits
