Job Overview

Genisys Group is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with a robust background in data modeling, particularly within star schema setups. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building and optimizing dashboards from data warehouses and working within Agile methodologies. This role requires close collaboration with business and technical stakeholders, making solid communication and documentation skills essential.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Dashboard Development

- Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports based on star schema models.
- Optimize data models for performance and scalability, leveraging Power BI features such as aggregations, calculated columns, and DAX measures.
- Create interactive, user-friendly dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.

Enterprise Data Modeling

- Follow enterprise guidelines to build consistent, reusable, and governed data models.
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.

Agile Methodology & Project Management

- Work within Agile frameworks, actively participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) for task management, tracking progress, and reporting issues.

Performance Optimization

- Optimize dashboards and reports for rapid load times and productive data refreshes.




- Implement row-level security (RLS) to ensure proper access to sensitive data.

Documentation & Communication

- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), technical documentation, and user guides.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and collect feedback.

Qualifications

- Experience: 6–8 years in Power BI development with a focus on data modeling (star schema) and communication.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M language).
- Robust understanding of data warehousing principles and ETL processes.
- Hands-on experience in performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) for task management.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst (preferred).
- Methodology: Agile and/or Scrum certification (preferred).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) best practices and enterprise BI distribution strategies.
- Experience in dataset management and Power BI service deployment.
