HVAC Engineer

Job Summary The HVAC Engineer is responsible for the operation, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems. The role ensures all HVAC assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while complying with client requirements, statutory regulations, and company standards. The HVAC Engineer also provides technical support, supervises maintenance activities, and ensures compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, supervise, and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Monitor the performance of chillers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), package units, split units, VRF/VRV systems, ventilation systems, cooling towers, pumps, and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
- Review maintenance schedules and ensure all PPM activities are completed on time.
- Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability, energy efficiency, and equipment lifespan.
- Supervise HVAC technicians and contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.




- Review and approve maintenance reports, service records, and inspection checklists.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded in the CAFM/CMMS system.
- Coordinate shutdowns, emergency repairs, and major maintenance activities with facility management and client representatives.
- Verify compliance with manufacturers' recommendations, local regulations, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, root cause analyses (RCA), and recommendations for recurring equipment failures.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend procurement of critical components.
- Assist in preparing maintenance budgets and forecasting replacement requirements.
- Support commissioning, testing, and handover of current HVAC installations and retrofit projects.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure uninterrupted building operations.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, facilities management, or MEP operations.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, or institutional facilities is preferred.
