Job Title:
HR Systems & Data Administrator
Work Arrangement:
Remote; must provide at least 50% overlap with Mountain Time/Night shift(IST)
Position Summary The HR Systems & Data Talent Partner provides technical expertise supporting UKG Pro People Analytics (Cognos BI) reporting environment and related HR systems. Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards and HR Data, this role partners directly with HR stakeholders to understand business needs, develop meaningful reporting and analytics solutions, and ensure the integrity of HR data used for decision-making.
This position is expected to operate independently with minimal ramp-up, translating business requirements into scalable reporting and system solutions rather than simply fulfilling report requests. Approximately 75% of the role focuses on UKG Pro People Analytics (Cognos BI) reporting, analytics, and HR systems support, while approximately 25% focuses on supporting the HR Assist Appian platform, including workflow administration, security, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives. A successful candidate demonstrates strong analytical thinking, excellent English communication skills, curiosity toward recent technologies, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while delivering practical outcomes.
Essential Job Functions
- Design, develop, modify, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain complex UKG Pro People Analytics (Cognos BI) reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that support HR and business decision-making.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and automation technologies to improve reporting, analytics, and business processes.
- Partner with HR stakeholders to understand business objectives, translate requirements into reporting solutions, and recommend the most effective analytical approach.
- Build reports utilizing advanced filters, prompts, calculations, summaries, formatting, scheduled distributions, and exports while ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Document report logic, business rules, technical specifications, and support knowledge transfer to ensure sustainable processes.
- Analyze reporting issues by determining whether root causes originate from report logic, system configuration, security, workflows, business rules, or underlying HR data; recommend related system and workflow improvements.
- Validate report accuracy by reconciling outputs against source data, investigating discrepancies, documenting assumptions, and ensuring confidence in reporting results.
- Support UKG system administration activities by understanding how employee data, organizational structures, security roles, workflows, and configuration decisions impact reporting and analytics.
- Learn and become proficient in 3E's HR Assist Appian platform through internal training resources and assume responsibility for maintaining Appian workflows, security, dashboards, user support, and ongoing system enhancements (approximately 25% of role responsibilities).
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, visualization, user experience, and overall HR data quality.
- Collaborate closely with the Director, Total Rewards and HR Data during overlapping business hours, maintaining regular verbal and written communication to support active project execution and rapid issue resolution.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining UKG Pro People Analytics (Cognos BI) reports.
- Strong knowledge of UKG Pro / UltiPro HR system administration, including employee data structures, security roles, workflows, business rules, and configuration.
- Proven ability to independently build, troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance complex reports and dashboards.
- Strong understanding of HR data architecture and how system configuration impacts reporting accuracy.
- Experience creating meaningful data visualizations and translating business questions into actionable reporting solutions.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts, reporting logic, assumptions, and recommendations to HR and business stakeholders.
- Ability to understand HR processes and partner effectively with HR functional leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies, systems, and business processes, including willingness to become proficient in the Appian platform.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Availability to maintain substantial overlap (approximately 50% of the workday) with Colorado (Mountain Time) business hours to support real-time collaboration with the Director, Total Rewards and HR Data.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt emerging AI capabilities, with interest in supporting future AI and agentic AI solutions within HR technology, workflow automation, and HR analytics platforms.
- Preferred: Experience supporting HR technology initiatives including workflow automation, case management, or self-service solutions.
- Preferred: Experience with HR metrics and reporting, workforce planning, and HR analytics best practices.
