Role & responsibilities
1. Staffing &
- Recruitment
- Sourcing &
- Hiring:
Source line staff (housekeeping, waiters, kitchen helpers, front desk agents, security) through local references, walk-in interviews, and job portals.
- Screening &
- Coordination:
Conduct initial phone screening, coordinate interview schedules with department heads (e.g., F&B; Manager, Executive Chef), and manage feedback.
- Onboarding &
- Induction:
Collect candidate documents (Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, experience letters), create employee files, and brief new hires on hotel policies, duty hours, and dress code.
1. Time, Attendance &
- Rota Management
- Attendance Tracking: Monitor daily punch-in/out records, bio-metric data, or manual registers for all shift staff.
- Shift Rota Coordination: Work with department heads to maintain weekly shift schedules, overtime tracking, and off-day logs.
- Leave Management: Record sick leaves, casual leaves, and unannounced absences; maintain attendance summaries for payroll processing.
1. Payroll Assistance &
- Statutory Compliance
- Payroll Inputs: Prepare monthly attendance register data (days worked, overtime, leaves without pay) and send it to the accountant/HR Manager.
- Compliance Documentation: Help collect and maintain required compliance forms (PF declaration, ESIC card forms, Form 11, etc.).
- Health &
- Safety Certificates:
Assist in tracking mandatory medical check-ups and food handler health certificates required for hotel/kitchen staff.
1. Daily Operations &
- Employee Relations
- Staff Welfare &
- Duty Meals:
Ensure staff cafeteria/duty meal operations are running smoothly and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Issue Resolution:
Act as the first point of contact for daily employee queries regarding salaries, shifts, uniforms, or leave requests.
- Exit Formalities: Help conduct basic exit interviews, collect hotel property (uniforms, keys, IDs), and assist with full & final clearance.
Preferred candidate profile
1. Education &
- Qualification
- Degree: Graduate in any discipline (BBA, B.Com, BMS, or B.A.) or an MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in HR (Fresher/Pursuing).
- Hospitality Background (Plus Point): A diploma or degree in Hotel Management with an interest in HR is highly preferred.
1. Experience
- 0 to 1 Year: Freshers are welcome. Prior internship experience in HR operations, recruitment, or hotel administration is an added advantage.
1. Key Skills &
- Competencies
- Local Language Proficiency: Fluent in Hindi and Marathi (essential for interacting with local line staff/workers). Basic functional English (for emails and documentation).
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in basic MS Office (Excel formulas, Word for offer letters, Outlook/Gmail). Knowledge of local attendance software or payroll tools is a bonus.
- Interpersonal &
- Patience:
Strong communication skills with the patience to manage line staff, daily conflict, and high employee turnover typical in hospitality.
- Multi-Tasking: Ability to handle administrative tasks alongside recruitment and daily staff issues in a fast-paced setting.
1. Operational Requirements
- Location: Candidates residing in or near Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, Ambernath, or Vitthalwadi preferred for quick commute.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedule during peak operational days, festivals, or banquet events.
