Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Governance & Quality Management

- Quality Assurance:
Oversee patient care standards, ensuring high quality, safety, and clinical ethics across all medical and surgical departments.

- Accreditation & Compliance:

Ensure full compliance with medical laws, statutory regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., NABH, NABL, JCI, BMW management, and local health authorities).

- Audit & Protocol Oversight:

Lead clinical audits, mortality/morbidity reviews, infection control committees, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.

1. Medical Staff Leadership & Administration

- Doctor Engagement & Credentialing:

Manage recruitment, credentialing, privileging, and onboarding of senior consultants, resident doctors, and clinical staff.

- Duty Roster & Workflows:

Oversee duty rosters, call schedules, OPD/IPD coverage, and clinical departmental workflows to ensure 24/7 seamless patient care.

- Performance & Discipline:

Conduct performance appraisals for medical personnel, address clinical grievances,



and resolve medical-legal issues or patient disputes.

1. Hospital Operations & Strategic Planning

- Departmental Alignment:
Coordinate between clinical teams, nursing administration, paramedic departments, and non-clinical operations (SCM, Pharmacy, Front Office).

- Resource Optimization:
Ensure effective utilization of hospital beds, OTs, ICUs, and advanced medical equipment in collaboration with operational leads.

- Crisis Management:
Lead emergency response plans, outbreak responses, and disaster management strategies within the facility.

1. Medico-Legal & Regulatory Compliance

- Legal Affairs:
Act as the primary authority for hospital medico-legal cases (MLCs), clinical consent protocols, and statutory reporting to health authorities.

- Patient Grievance Resolution:
Directly address severe patient complaints, clinical escalation cases, and ethical dilemmas to protect patient rights and hospital reputation.
