Summary

Backup Administration is responsible for managing and troubleshooting the Commvault Environment, ensuring regular backups, test restores, and health checks of Commvault servers.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Provide L2 Commvault support for managing the backup environment.
- Ensure that performance standards are met and that production support services align with service level agreements.
- Implement strategies to improve current processes and procedures while identifying cost reduction opportunities to enhance business operations.
- Deliver tasks in a timely and productive manner.
- Provide 24x7 rotational support with on-call availability.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Significant technical knowledge of various OS-related functionalities including, but not limited to, Backups, Restore, Disaster Recovery Management, and File System Management.
- A minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Commvault Administrator.
- Expertise in the installation, configuration, and upgradation of Commvault Server and client on AIX,



Linux, and Windows environments.
- Experience in upgrading Client software on AIX, Linux, and Windows.
- Proficiency in the installation, configuration, and upgrade of TDP for databases.
- Competency in configuring LAN-free backups on AIX, Linux, and Windows environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot L2 server and client-related issues.
- Skilled in the administration of Disaster Recovery Management.
- Experience working with Commvault in AIX/Linux environments.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 support role.
- Capability to monitor the performance of scheduled backups and take corrective actions as needed.
- Ability to schedule regular testing of restores and ensure adherence to related retention policies as defined by the customer.
- Hands-on experience in managing multi-vendor tape libraries with TSM (TS3500, TS4500, TS7650G, DLT TL).
