Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Contract Head to lead the Contracts function for our real estate and construction projects. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing contract management strategies, overseeing tendering and procurement support, administering contracts, managing claims and variations, and ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The role demands strong commercial acumen, leadership capabilities, and extensive experience in handling contracts for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the Contracts function across multiple real estate and construction projects.
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle, including pre-award and post-award contract administration.
- Prepare, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts, work orders, subcontract agreements, consultancy agreements, and purchase orders.
- Develop tender documents, BOQs, Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and technical/commercial bid documents.
- Coordinate the tendering process, evaluate bids, and recommend contractors and vendors based on technical and commercial evaluations.
- Draft and administer contracts for civil, structural, architectural, MEP, finishing, infrastructure, and specialized works.
- Monitor contract execution to ensure compliance with agreed terms, project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Manage variation orders, change requests, contract amendments, extensions of time, and final account settlements.
- Identify contractual risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization's commercial interests.
- Handle contractual claims, disputes, and negotiations in coordination with project, legal, and management teams.




- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies.
- Work closely with Procurement, Project Management, Finance, Legal, Engineering, and Site Execution teams for seamless project delivery.
- Monitor contractor performance and support project teams in resolving contractual and commercial issues.
- Develop standard contract templates, SOPs, and best practices to improve contract governance and efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Contracts team while driving continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- MBA, PG Diploma in Contracts Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong experience in residential, commercial, township, mixed-use, or infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience in tendering, contract drafting, contract administration, bid evaluation, and claims management.
- Sound understanding of construction methodologies, BOQs, rate analysis, project costing, and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with standard forms of contracts such as FIDIC and other industry-standard contract frameworks is desirable.
- Solid negotiation, commercial, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or equivalent), and contract management software.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in handling high-value, multi-location construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of commercial management, quantity surveying, and project cost control.
- Exposure to arbitration, dispute resolution, and legal aspects of construction contracts.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
