Role Overview The General Manager – Operations will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end operational excellence of the institution, ensuring seamless management of facilities, administration, infrastructure, compliance, vendor partnerships, and campus support services. The role requires strategic leadership, operational expertise, and strong execution capabilities to maintain high standards of efficiency, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction across the institution. Key Responsibilities

Facility & Infrastructure Management

Oversee complete facility operations including housekeeping, security, cafeteria, transport, maintenance, and utilities.

Ensure smooth functioning of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, DG sets, and fire safety systems.

Develop and implement preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules

Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and campus upkeep.

Monitor energy utilization and drive sustainability initiatives wherever feasible. Administration & Campus Operations

Manage overall campus administration including space allocation, asset management, utility management, and inventory control.

Ensure efficient functioning of all support services across departments and campuses.

Oversee cafeteria and food services ensuring hygiene, quality, and FSSAI compliance.

Establish and improve operational SOPs, policies, and service standards.

Drive operational efficiency and continuous process improvements. Vendor & Contract Management

Identify, evaluate, onboard,



and manage vendors for operational and facility services.

Negotiate contracts, monitor SLAs, and ensure timely and quality service delivery.

Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and corrective actions.

Optimize operational costs while maintaining service quality standards. Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure adherence to all statutory compliances including labor laws, fire safety norms, environmental standards, and operational regulations. Liaise with government authorities, inspectors, and regulatory bodies.

Conduct internal audits and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Develop and implement risk mitigation and emergency response strategies. Financial & Budget Management

Prepare and manage annual operational budgets

Monitor operational expenditures and identify cost optimization opportunities.

Track and manage CAPEX and OPEX effectively.

Ensure financial discipline and adherence to approved budgets. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Lead and manage cross-functional operational teams. Build a high-performance culture with measurable KPIs and accountability.

Coordinate with academic, administrative, and leadership teams for operational alignment.



Handle escalations efficiently and ensure timely resolution of operational issues. Projects & Expansion

Lead campus expansion, renovation, and infrastructure development projects.

Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality execution of projects.

Monitor project timelines, budgets, and compliance standards. Key Requirements

15–20+ years of experience in operations, administration, facility management, or campus operations

Engineering / MBA / relevant professional qualification

Preferred Experience managing large campuses, institutions, or corporate facilities.

Robust knowledge of facility systems, vendor management, and statutory compliance.

Proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities. Key Skills
