We work in small teams with direct client contact.
Engineers here own features end to end rather than working from a ticket queue.
Job summary We are hiring one Full Stack Software Engineer to work across our healthcare client engagements.
The work spans two areas: 1. Enterprise platform modernisation — rebuilding a large legacy production system (currently on .NET) onto a Node.js backend with a React front end, while the existing system remains live.
Delivered as three parallel tracks: functional recreation, data migration, and new enhancements, up to cutover.
- Patient engagement platforms — messaging-led patient programmes with protocol engines, scheduled reminders, consent capture, and clinician-facing dashboards, built on Java Spring Boot and Node.js services with React front ends. You will move between both. The role requires competence in both backend stacks and the front end — it is not a specialist position.
Key responsibilities Front-end development • Develop responsive React applications: admin consoles, operations dashboards, clinician portals, and patient-facing web views • Build data-dense interfaces correctly — tables, filters, role-conditional views, form validation, reporting charts • Extend existing front-end codebases without destabilising them Backend development — Node.js • Develop and maintain Node.js services (Express / NestJS): REST APIs, webhooks, background jobs, and event-driven flows • Take module-level ownership within the modernisation programme, including migration and reconciliation tooling Backend development — Java • Develop Java Spring Boot services: REST controllers, JPA / Hibernate persistence, scheduled jobs, and role-based access control using Spring Security Common to both streams • Study existing production systems — database schemas, stored procedures, and service-layer code — and convert findings into written specifications • Design relational schemas and write efficient SQL; model multi-tenant data across multiple client programmes • Support data migration and coexistence during cutover: reconciliation, dual-write or replication patterns,
and parallel-run verification • Build and maintain third-party integrations — client APIs, laboratory and payer feeds, messaging and SMS/email gateways, scheduled file transfers, and reporting exports • Deploy and operate applications on AWS (EC2/ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM), respecting data-residency requirements • Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain CI/CD pipelines • Participate in client requirement discussions and translate business needs into technical designs • Handle personal and health data strictly in line with DPDP Act requirements and internal information-security controls • Maintain technical documentation — architecture notes, schema definitions, and operational runbooks Mandatory technical skills • Minimum 2 years of qualified full-stack development experience, including at least one production system owned end to end • React — hooks, component composition, state management, forms and validation; TypeScript • Node.js — Express or NestJS, REST API design, asynchronous patterns, error handling • Java 11 or above with Spring Boot — REST controllers, JPA / Hibernate, dependency injection, Spring Security fundamentals • SQL — joins, indexing, query optimisation, and the ability to interpret an undocumented schema. PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server • Git-based workflows, basic Docker, and hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS preferred) • Proven ability to debug and modify code written by others across the full stack On depth: production-level depth is expected in React and one of the two backend stacks, with genuine shipped experience in the second. Candidates with no working exposure to one of the two backends are unlikely to succeed here, as stack rotation begins within the first quarter.
Good to have • Legacy modernisation or platform migration experience (any stack to any stack) • Ability to read C# / .NET sufficiently to extract business logic (writing it is not required) • Data migration, CDC, or ETL experience; reconciliation across two live systems • NestJS • Messaging-platform integration, including WhatsApp Business Cloud API • Experience in healthcare, insurance, banking, or other regulated domains (DPDP / HIPAA / GDPR exposure) • Multi-tenant SaaS or configuration-driven product architecture • Redis; message queues such as SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka • Next.js; React Native or Flutter • Terraform or AWS CDK; GitHub Actions • Application monitoring and observability tooling Remote working requirements This is a fully remote role. Minimum configuration: 16 GB RAM, Intel i5 / Ryzen 5 (or Apple M-series) or better, 256 GB SSD, and a currently supported operating system. Because the role involves personal and health data, the following security conditions apply to any personal device used for work:
- Full-disk encryption enabled, and a screen lock with a maximum [5]-minute timeout • Current operating system and security patches, and active anti-malware where applicable • Client data accessed only through approved company systems — no local copies of production or patient data, and no storage on personal cloud accounts • Company VPN used for all access to client environments • Device registered with the organisation, subject to the acceptable-use and information-security policy, and enrolled in endpoint management if required • On separation, certified deletion of all company and client material from the device Behavioural competencies • Independent ownership — able to carry a problem alone from analysis to deployment, without close supervision • Remote discipline — self-managing on time and priorities; communicates progress and blockers proactively in writing • Stack neutrality — comfortable writing Node.js one week and Java the next, without preference-driven friction • Respect for existing systems — inclined to understand legacy design intent before replacing it • Requirement clarity — asks why, and distinguishes a client's stated symptom from the underlying need • Documentation discipline — records decisions so a small team retains context • Confidentiality — sound judgement when handling patient and client data Selection process 1.
