Role Description The Field Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Islampur.

The Field

Officer will visit farmers regularly, promote Prabhat Seeds products, and provide technical guidance on crop selection, seed usage, and best agronomic practices. This role involves organizing field demonstrations and meetings, monitoring crop performance, and collecting feedback from farmers and distributors.

Officer will also support local sales targets, maintain relationships with retailers and channel partners, and prepare basic field reports on market trends and competitor activity.



Collaboration with the regional sales and R&D; teams to share field insights and participate in promotional campaigns is an integral part of the role.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of agriculture, agronomy, and seed technology, preferably with experience in crops such as cotton, maize, paddy, sorghum, bajra, and vegetables.
- Skills in field visits, farmer engagement, and conducting demonstrations, meetings, and awareness activities in rural areas.
- Basic sales and marketing skills, including relationship management with farmers, retailers, and distributors, and support for local sales growth.
- Ability to collect, document, and report field data on crop performance, market trends, and competitor activities in a explicit and timely manner.
- Effective communication skills in local language(s) and Hindi/English, with the ability to explain technical information in a simple, practical way.
- Minimum qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related field; relevant field experience in seeds or agri-inputs is an advantage.
- Comfort working in rural/field environments, with readiness to travel locally within the assigned territory.
- Basic proficiency in using mobile apps or computers for reporting and coordination.
