Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced ETL QA Engineer with 5–6 years of expertise in Manual ETL Testing , SQL-based data validation , and Azure Cloud Data Platforms . The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in validating ETL pipelines, data transformations, and data warehouse solutions while ensuring high-quality data delivery across enterprise applications. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, excellent SQL expertise, and experience working in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive ETL test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts .
- Perform Manual ETL Testing by validating data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Validate source-to-target data mapping , transformation logic, and business rules.
- Perform data reconciliation to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Execute Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and End-to-End Testing for ETL and data warehouse applications.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries for backend data validation, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and window functions.
- Validate data across Azure SQL Database , Azure Data Lake , Azure Synapse Analytics , and Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines.
- Review business requirements, mapping documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure complete test coverage.
- Analyze data models and ETL workflows to identify testing scenarios and edge cases.
- Identify, log, prioritize, and track defects using Jira or Azure DevOps, working closely with development teams for resolution.




- Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Perform risk analysis and prioritize testing activities based on project impact and business criticality.
- Support release planning activities and provide Go/No-Go recommendations based on testing outcomes.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Solution Architects to validate business requirements and data quality.
- Identify gaps in requirements, data mappings, or testing processes and recommend improvements.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with organizational QA standards, testing methodologies, and best practices.

Mandatory Skills

- 5–6 years of experience in ETL Testing .
- Strong experience in Manual ETL Testing .
- Expert-level SQL programming (Joins, CTEs, Window Functions, Aggregations, Stored Procedures).
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) , including pipelines, triggers, and data flows.
- Experience validating data using Azure SQL Database , Azure Data Lake , and Azure Synapse Analytics .
- Strong understanding of ETL Processes and Data Validation .
- Solid knowledge of Data Warehousing Concepts :

- Experience in Source-to-Target Mapping Validation.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
